Trebuchet

This is my first serious attempt at building a medieval siege engine. It's small, but it will throw a grape about 45 or 50 feet with a 2 pound counterweight.

Pictures

cocked1.jpg (24725 bytes) In these three pictures, you can see the basic construction of my trebuchet. The frame is made from 1" x 2" lumber and the arm is made from 1 1/4" x 1/4" trim. The counterbalance is 2 pounds of lead from the fishing department.

launch1.jpg (13054 bytes) These three shots show the trebuchet in action. Amazing how I caught it right after release in all three
